The Water Slide

One of the many marvelous things to do on the weekends here is the Water Slide.

I’m not sure whose idea it was those many years ago, but someone took the time to ship a massively long, thick sheet of black plastic over here and then dug out a crevice for the thing.  The result was this:


Water is pumped directly from the nearby river to the hoses at the top, and after the pool fills up at the bottom, hours of fun ensue.




Of course, there are all sorts of ways you can go down.  Some like to surf, some (like Amanda) like to wave to their imaginary friends, some like the belly slide, and some brave souls do eight-man chains (this can be particularly painful when you come to a sudden stop at the bottom, let me assure you).
