The Birthday Boy!

Our baby is 1 year old! How did this happen? My foggy memories of his newborn self seem so recent.

A year ago today, August 29, was his due date. Of course, he blessed us by coming 11 days early. Thank you…sweet child! I will never forget the first time I saw his little face looking up at me. He reached his hand up toward my face as if to say, “Hey mom. Nice to finally meet you!”

Today’s blog post is all about what Finn did on his birthday. I tried to do things with him that he thought were fun. Hope you enjoy!

He woke up around 7:00 (YEAY!) and got some snuggles from daddy and mommy. This has always been a family favorite ;)

For breakfast we made him waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. He wasn’t so sure about it at first.

Meal times always conclude with a full body wipe down and what we call “diaper time”. Finn runs around laughing and beating his tummy. He then discovered the store box and figured out how to get in it! (This is a new favorite…climbing into things)

He also surprised us by rolling his tongue. I had no idea babies could do that!

Then he wanted to go outside. This boy could live outside if we’d let him!

He loves to “pick” flowers, explore, and climb!

We had a special lunch with our friends Thom and Barbara Isch and Cassidy and Kari Isch. Chicken and chips (french fries). When Finn was finished he enjoyed swinging.

All this fun exhausted the poor guy (and his momma).

A little more play time before daddy came home for the evening bottle. Of course his favorite toy of the day was a hair brush that I had bought for myself and have yet to use!

Daddy made him a stegosaurus cake. He was a bit unsure of it at the first but not for long.

Happy Birthday Finn! Looking forward to many more years with you.
