Fridays with Finn: Candy and Omelettes

A fairly daily conversation with Finn after using the potty:

Finn – “Me did it!!! …Twoooo candies!”
Me – “Good job buddy. Do you want a gummy snake or two candies?”
Finn – “Hmmmm. Two candies. One and two.”
(I hand him the two candies.)
Finn – “Alllllllllllll candies at Me Dolly house.”

(“Me Dolly” is his Aunt Kelly, and it’s true: when he goes potty at his Aunt Kelly’s, she gives him two fistfuls of jelly beans.)

A few mornings ago, as soon as he got out of bed:

Finn – “We want sumting to eat!”
Me – “We’re making omelettes!”
Finn– “Omette is Mae Mae’s brother”
Me – “What?”
(Mae, by the way, is Finn’s babysitter)
Finn – “Omette is Mae Mae’s brother”
Me – “Oh, haha! No, Mae’s brother’s name is Amat. We are making omeLettes!”
(A pause, then…)
Finn – “Me eating Amats!”

  1. In my experience, when it come to boys and food, it’s 90% about quantity and only 10% about quality….. of course, 100% of both is even better!
